My dad worked on the north tower, and he has, to this day, a key to the entrance of the World Trade Center. I am curious

You may be forced into selling it in the future. Shit happens. Just a thought.

I'm glad you want to keep it. That is priceless to me just simply as an American.
Very cool.

Honestly who gives a fuck about an old key. Like I said I could make 100 of these by Monday and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

thats not necessarily true, it could be tooth matched if there is another confirmed key in existence, if authenticity was a question or concern.

I think if Im literally at the point where I need to sell this key then the extra 100 I would get by certifying it will have minimal impact.

And now that weve seen the pattern, its fairly easy for anyone with any mechanical aptitude, to duplicate that.

Its just as bad as the old ball and chain, or old padlocks, that people stamp Property of Alcatraz onto, with a set of stamps you can buy at Harbor Freight.

It's not like the key would have worked anyway. It's been 23 years.

There are hundreds if not thousands of keys from the complex, keep in mind the original World Trade Center operated in New York from the 70s until 2001. many things like keys would most certainly made in mass, lost, replaced, stolen etc over the decades.
