My dad worked on the north tower, and he has, to this day, a key to the entrance of the World Trade Center. I am curious

Happy to help! If you want to do this yourself, eBay has a filter called Completed Items and Sold Items. Checking those boxes show you what people are actually paying, it gets rid of those misleading asking prices that never sell.

I would delete this post. Regardless of what the key is actually for- a key cutter can make a duplicate key with just a picture l. This is a starlndarf size key, it would be very easy to cut

Make it proper art. If you have a photo of your dad, preferably at work, mount it in a shadow with the key. Type a brief synopsis of who he was, who he worked for, what floor, the fact he was there on the day, anything you can remember, the fact that he never spoke about that day, anyone he lost, if you know. To me, the human connection brings much more value to these sorts of artifacts.

But I agree, I wouldnt sell it either.

I would have someone hand craft a shadow box out of mahogony, walnut or oak and hang this on my wall if I were OP. In all honesty, if I were OP I would make the box myself but either way, display it in dads memory!

Stephen king wrote a short story about the items left behind of those that were lost in the towers. Summation is that when they were united with their loved ones, their voices finally silenced. He had a ton to get thru. Lol. Glad u have this. If it could talk.
